Who Needs To Be Licensed?
In the State of Arizona, if you do any work where the total value of the project is over $1,000, or where there is a permit required by local ordinances, you have to be licensed.  To do work on Residential property, which is considered 4 units or less, (meaning apartments, etc.). The only exception to this rule is if you're doing the work yourself, on your own property.

If it's a commercial property a Commercial Contractors license is required.

Here's links to the State websites responsible for contractor licensing.  Check it out!
